Supplier Related Services
Allegiant provides comprehensive services to aid organizations in the purchasing and procurement of supplied product. Allegiant is a valuable resource in meeting your companies' strategic sourcing goals and an indispensible resource to purchasing personnel, sourcing managers, and departmental stakeholders. Evaluating suppliers and accessing risk is a critical function we take seriously.
Allegiant's expertise can be focused not only on the bidding process and negotiating with suppliers, but the entire supply function-manufacturing, quality, engineering, logistics, materials management, distribution, and warehousing. In these roles Allegiant is able to add value and maximize savings for organizations. The value of our service is manifested in many ways through customized risk assessments and evaluations; often including at least the following:
• Selection of the right supplier/process
• Comprehensive supplier evaluations
• Issue or risk identification/prevention*
• Guarantee of adequate system design*
• Lower inventories and less personnel*
• Ensuring the right capacity*
• Validating the right tooling/cost
• Ensuring quality & delivery expectations*.
*All reducing total award costs and developing good suppliers for a viable business strategy!
Allegiant's personnel have been involved in all stages of the acquisition process and can provide support during the selection of bidders, bidding process, technical reviews, commercial evaluation, negotiating, and post award administration. Below are some examples of a few common criteria for the pre-selection of suppliers for new programs.
History of most recent programs awarded, and for each:
• PPAP and R@R results and issues encountered.
• SORP issues and ramp up performance.
• On-going supply issues including SPO (Service Parts Organization)
Systems Design
What is their current systems design philosophy as it relates to:
1. Capacity planning ( equipment and operator loading )
2. Buffers ( effectively mitigating the effect of inherent system variation )
3. Material flow and layout
4. Automated handling and storage
5. Automated v/s manual operations
6. Balancing capacity v/s balancing flow
7. Implementing LEAN concepts
8. Operator training and qualification
9. Where design responsibility resides
10. How design throughput is validated
11. Are new systems modeled using math based simulations
12. Who performs throughput simulations (internal/external)
13. Are other types of simulations performed or utilized in the design such as 3D CAD layout, material handling and delivery etc.
14. To what extent is TOC understood and incorporated in systems design
15. How is input data gathered or acquired in formulating the necessary design parameters dealing with inherent system variation
• What is the structural framework of the organization?
• What are the key operating metrics that drive the organization?
• How does the organization ensure a constancy of purpose and avoid sub optimization?
• How is project management handled, what is the process used to prioritize tasks and establish timing to effectively achieve the program objective on time, within budget and without de-contenting?
Commercial
1. How many price increases by product has this supplier requested on previous programs?
2. Has this supplier co-operated in the past in providing 1804 cost breakdowns?
3. What has been the participation of this supplier in contributing to cost reduction initiatives, and sharing savings with the end customer?
4. How receptive has the supplier been to joint activities in searching for improvement opportunities?
Supply Performance
1. Have there been previous premium transportation issues with any recent programs?
2. What has the supplier's daily throughput performance been against daily demand, particularly during ramp up?
3. What has been this supplier's response and performance in past situations where demand exceeded contracted volume?
4. What has this suppliers performance been at achieving annual productivity improvements, throughput, investment, and operating expense
